Day 3: Little Switzerland
(Tuesday) Waynesville, NC to Little Switzerland, NC

Using the Garmin software I selected curvy roads to get us to Little Switzerland; a place Duane says that needs to learn how to market itself better. I agree, it's a beautiful area.

After a Waffle House breakfast we are ready to hit the road and wind our way north and east .... and west .... and north .... you get the picture. Another day loaded with 25 and 35 MPH
corners; I think the only time Texas drivers slow down to 35 MPH is when they are pulling into their driveways!

We ended up at the
Skyline Village Inn. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the people are great and the rooms are nice. We also had a balcony overlooking the Blue Ridge
Mountains which makes a great view at the end of the day.  Yeah, war is hell.

They have a poured, covered concrete pad just for motorcycles and even though the restaurant was closed the clerk cooked us dinner and brought it to the room. I'm definitely staying
here whenever I am in the area!

  • 226A into Little Switzerland from the south is a lot of fun and no cars. NICE!
